In 1994 Medina began studying Fine Arts at Memorial University
of Newfoundland. However, she decided to follow a different
career path. After working as a Dental Assistant, Medina returned
to university to continue her studies. In 2002 she graduated from
Dalhousie University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene.
Throughout the years Medina continued to paint.
Medina is mainly a self-taught artist. Medina's paintings consist of
landscapes, seascapes, floras, and wildlife. Medina has tried to
capture the beauty and essence of the boats, wharfs, and sea, seen
in so many of her paintings. Painting has given Medina a sense of
pride and accomplishment, which she loves to share with others.
Medina has been a member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia, the Nova
Scotia Designers Craft Council, and the Contemporary Art
Society. Medina's art has been exhibited at Advantage Frame and
Gallery, Eyelevel Gallery, Visual Arts Nova Scotia's; Art in a
Box, Lower Sackville Wellness Centre, Art Choices at Sue
Beaver's Place, Plum Point Motel, Highway Shopper, and
Alderney Landing Farmers Market.
